Environmental vision - Wind energy focus area
Description
There are specific objects in various areas that call attention to the development of a wind farm. In these areas, the conversation with the right parties is necessary to clarify the (im)possibilities at the earliest possible stage. These are areas around the following objects:
-pipelines; -high-voltage power lines; -built-up areas, with the exception of industrial estates; -railways; -national roads; The installation of wind turbines around these objects can be limited by legal standards. The province will not cooperate in spatial planning if legal standards are not met. The indicative areas indicated as a focus area for these objects depend on the height and type of wind turbine used. This will vary by project. The update plan was adopted by the Provincial Council on 19 December 2018.
The map layers of wind energy from the environmental vision are a technical approach with which possibilities and limitations for wind energy have been mapped. After going through a participatory process and administrative coordination, search areas for wind energy have been included in the first version of the Regional Energy Strategies (RES1.0, 2021).
The information about wind in the environmental vision has now been overtaken by the RES.
