LOFAR (detail map zone 1) (OGV, 2010) (history)
Description
The Environmental Vision was adopted by Provinciale Staten van Drenthe on 2 June 2010. Map 1 (Vision Map) shows the detailed zoning. LOFAR (Low Frequency Array) makes measurements at low frequencies. About 7,000 small antennas capture signals from space. The signals are processed by a supercomputer into images that are studied by astronomers. The antennas are located in clusters in the central LOFAR area of 400 hectares between Exloo and Buinen and on about eighteen antenna fields (about two hectares) spread across Friesland, Groningen, Drenthe and Overijssel. This detail map shows the area of about 400 ha on either side and the Achterste Diep, in the area referred to as Owlenbroeken, Zuurse Landen and Kakenbroeken.
