Do you want to build something new or modify a building and do you need an environmental permit for this? Then your plan will be tested against welfare requirements. This means that a committee will check whether the building fits within the streetscape. The Spatial Quality Committee assesses whether your building plan meets the requirements.
The requirements that a building plan must meet are set out in the welfare memorandum. With these standards we want the spatial quality to remain the same. The standards of well-being of a building are about: the placement, the shape, the proportions (size), the use of materials, the colour. Each area has its own welfare requirements. On the Welstandskaart you can see which requirements apply in an area.
Not all areas are equally important for the 'face' of the municipality of Ede. For this reason, a classification into areas with different levels of wealth has been chosen: special, flexible and wealth-free. 'Special' is for areas that are very image-defining or otherwise valuable. Smooth is especially for the regular residential areas and wealth-free for areas for which we only make recommendations.
