Description
Protected forests removed as part of the SilvaProtect FOEN project. The protective forest protects people or property from rockfall, erosion, slides and avalanches. In order for conservation forests to fulfil this function, they must be cared for accordingly. In order for a forest to be eliminated as a protective forest, it requires a natural hazard (stone impact, avalanches, slides, erosion) that threatens people or high property values (residential houses, settlements, infrastructure facilities). If the forest can provide a protective effect against these hazards, it is excreted as a protective forest.
