Description
The Provisional Municipal Borders Reference File contains information on the demarcations of the territory of the administrative units in the Flemish Region: Municipalities, administrative districts, provinces and the Flemish Region. Furthermore, this dataset contains meta-information about the origin of the geometry of the municipal borders.The preliminary reference file municipal borders serves as a geometric and object reference for the administrative classifications in Flanders.For the construction of the geometry of the municipal borders, the best available information is used. In vele gevallen is de geometrie van de adp's (administratieve percelen) van het GRB (Groootschalig Referentiebestand) gebruikt, tenzij er beter vastgestelde geometrische informatie (zoals bvb lijsten van coördinaten die in het Belgisch Staatsblad zijn gepubliceerd bij vaststelling van grenzen)voorhanden is.De gewestgrens vastgesteld door AAPD werd nog niet opgenomen in deze dataset.
