Transitional water bodies – Martinique – 2016 Reporting Version
Description
A transitional body of water is a distinct and significant part of the surface waters located near the mouths of rivers or rivers, which are partly salty because of their proximity to coastal waters but which remain fundamentally influenced by freshwater currents, constituting the elementary division of aquatic environments intended to be the assessment unit of the WFD.
DCE reporting correspondence: this entity corresponds to the concept of Transitional Water Body (TWBODY) of WISE.
