https://www.plan.be/databases/PVarModal.php?lang=en&VC=MODRESV&DB=MOD These time series present gross domestic product (GDP) and its main components on an annual (Y) and quarterly (Q) basis. The expenditure approach assesses GDP by summing all categories of expenditure (except intermediate consumption) less imports. Table 1.1 shows the absolute figures in current prices (in billion euro). Table 1.2 shows real volume growth (annual change in %). The size of GDP is estimated according to the expenditure method. In the system of national accounts, only households, non-profit institutions serving households (NPISHs) and governments have final consumption. Private final consumption expenditure includes expenditure on goods and services used for the direct satisfaction of individual needs, while general government consumption expenditure covers the goods and services that it produces or purchases with a view to providing them to households as social transfers in kind. Gross capital formation is the sum of gross fixed capital formation and changes in inventories (stocks). The balance of external trade is the difference between exports and imports of goods and services. Depending on the volume of exports and imports, this balance may be positive (surplus) or negative (deficit). In addition to GDP figures and its main components, gross national income (GNI) on an annual basis is also shown in Tables 1.1_Y and 1.2_Y.
