Geological 3D model Lugau-Oelsnitz (Erzgebirge)
Description
The geological model represents the sequence of the most important geological units in the area of the former coal district Lugau-Oelsnitz (Erzgebirge) in a three-dimensional space. The geological model of Lugau/Oelsnitz is a detailed model that depicts the encountered rock layers of the basement mountains up to the permocarbon volcanic deposits of the Vorerzgebirgessenke and has been simplified for a pit water rise modeling on the most essential geological-tectonic blocks. The model was developed as a hydromechanical 3D model for assessing and managing the mining consequences in the Lugau-Oelsnitz coal district. The maximum model depth is about -1 000 m below NHN. Furthermore, the model integrates geological disturbances and was created as a GOCAD model in the 2006 version. As part of the Geomap project (01/2019-06/2021), the geological 3D model is validated, updated and upgraded with new information, especially in the field of coal fins. More information can be found under the Sales tab. The 3D model Lugau-Oelsnitz is located east of the 3D model Zwickau. In addition, there is a 3D model of the entire Vorerzgebirgssenke.
