Accumulation of pressures that may cause the entry of non-native species into the Canary Islands (EM CAN PRE Non-native Species)
Description
Cumulative pressure analysis was performed for 5 x 5 minute meshing. No distinction has been made between input vectors and vectors that facilitate dispersion. Therefore, all pressures for which spatial information is available and which may cause entry and dispersal of non-native species have been considered together, namely:
- Aquaculture facilities.
- Ports of general interest (areas I and II).
- Other ports.
Roundabouts.
- Authorised places of dumping of dredged material from port areas.
Aquariums.
Given the difficulty in establishing zones of influence of the non-indigenous species (since the dispersal capacity of the same depends on each species), for the generation of the index, only the cells that contain or intersect any of the layers used have been selected, as well as those that are at a distance of less than 5 km from an aquarium. Each pressure has been assigned a unit value, except for ports of general interest that score double except for the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife that scores quadruple for the high volume of bulk cargo it handles. He's finally joined in. Cells are classified according to the following criteria:
Very High: 5 / High: 4 / Medium: 3 to 2 / Low: 1 / Very Low: 0
