Each city has a memory that is often reflected in the naming of its streets and squares according to personalities who have shaped its history. This list lists all persons for whom a street or square has been named in Biel, with details of the year of birth and death, status or function. The short information is supplemented with a link to a more detailed biography on the Internet, usually on the page of the Historical Dictionary of Switzerland.
