National database of 3D buildings

This dataset contains the buildings in 3D and 2D on the national territory of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in 2020.

3D Buildings (LOD 2.2)

Modelization
The 3D buildings were built on the basis of aerial shots taken in summer 2020 (flight period: end of July, beginning of August and mid-September 2020; Flight height: +/- 3500 m above the ground) by photogrammetric rendering of the roofs (EMQ in x, y and z ≤ 20 cm), followed by downward extrusion and texturing of the resulting 3D models of the buildings with oblique shots.
Only the roofs of buildings with a footprint greater than 20 m2 have been seized, taking into account superstructures (e.g. seated dogs) whose longest side exceeds 50 cm and which are of volume greater than 1 m3.

Data structure and availability
The 3D buildings correspond to the LOD (Level of Detail) 2.2 classification and are available in CityGML format. The data are grouped in a compressed file (zip) per municipality, including the textures of the buildings in jpg and a CityGML file consisting of the objects "building", "roof(s)", "wall(s)" and "ground surface" (building, roof, wall, ground surface) of all the buildings of the municipality. Each object has a unique identifier enabling it to be identified with the building to which it belongs.
In addition, a geodatabase file type database is made available with all 3D models in the form of multipatch entities (grounds, roofs, solids, walls).

2D Buildings

The 2D buildings consist of the ground rights-of-way of the 3D buildings, thus the extent of their roofs. They are made available in a shapefile or geojson file.
