Description
The map Aridez Index (P/EPT), belongs to a group of thematic maps based on agroclimatic variables called Characterization or Agroclimatic Information. The Aridez Index map corresponds to a model in which the scarcity of water or humidity in the air or in the soil is indicated, represented through a hyposometric ink map, in which each region of Spain is characterized according to the following aridity index parameters: 0 - 0.2, 0.2 - 0.5, 0.5 - 0.75, Greater than 0.75. This information is produced by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food by geostatistical interpolation methods (kriging) from data from 5992 stations belonging to the network of the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).
