Issue No. 20 from the series “scriptum — Work Results from the Geological Service North Rhine-Westphalia” presents the results of extensive geoscientific investigations of the limestone deposits of the northern Bergisches Land. The diverse karst sediments of Wülfrath and two other occurrences in the western right-Rhine slate mountains are described from sedimentpetrographic, geochemical and paleontological aspects. The Devonian mass limestone of the region has been affected in the past at different times by karstification, or palaeovercarsation with considerable cavity and subsequent sediment filling.
