Fire geese: Monitoring data in the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea (UIG, LKN.SH – NPV)
Description
From 2010 onwards, this service-related database for a WFS download service provides the occurrence and number of individuals of the mausing fire geese from counting flights in the area of the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park. Fire geese are flightless for a few weeks during the moulting period in summer and are therefore particularly prone to interference.
At this time (in the months of July – September) the Brandgos monitoring takes place with 3 comprehensive survey flights in the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea and provides information about the spatial and temporal distribution of the fire geese. The importance and change of the most important moulting areas can be estimated and evaluated with regard to potential sources of interference. Estimates of stock sizes can also be derived from the data. In addition, the data can distinguish between flightable and non-flightable fire geese.
This spatial data set of Brandgans monitoring contains data from all three flights of a straight year from 2010 (i.e. 2010, 2012, etc.) so that the variability of the mouse occurrence can be mapped (UIG relevant). This data serves as a basis for determining the maximum number of mouses of a year (Object ID: 4C3761C7-FD30-4A24-966E-166C01B9F2AB)
The aforementioned data can be retrieved via the associated service “(WFS) fire geese” (object ID:B837BEA3-DAA2-448D-946C-3B75255CBB14).
