DGM1 — Laserscan terrain model In spring 2006, an airborne laser scan flight was held to generate a new high-precision terrain model for the entire Saarland. The terrain surface was scanned with a laser installed in the aircraft. As a result, the high-precision DGM1 with a grid width of 1 m and an average height accuracy of 1-2 dm has been available since the end of 2008. As a desired side effect, in addition to terrain data, objects such as buildings and vegetation on the Earth’s surface were scanned, which are available as surface data.
