Species and biotope protection - AuBS (formerly APRO)

Description

The Wildlife and Biotope Protection (AuBS) map with its accompanying explanatory report is an essential, binding component of the landscape programme. It describes comprehensive development goals for all areas of the city and defines measures for the protection, maintenance and development of the habitats of native plant and animal species. The Map of Species and Biotopes was originally adopted by the citizens as a Species and Biotopes Protection Programme (APRO) as an independent part of the Landscape Programme on 12 June 1997. The basis for the development of the program was the species and biotope mapping, which was collected for the entire urban area. Fifteen different categories with a total of 39 different biotope development areas were summarized on this basis and objectives and measures formulated for this purpose. Today it is integrated as a map species and biotope protection (AuBS) in the landscape program. In the future, the Hamburg Act on the Implementation of the Federal Nature Conservation Act (HmbBNatSchAG § 13) will provide for the presentation of statements made by Apro together with other contents that are important in terms of nature conservation in a special concept for species and biotope protection (FABio). Basis: Hamburg Nature Conservation Act and Decision of the Hamburg Citizenship. Analogue map set in scales 1:20 000 and 1:50 000. Data is available digitally in ArcGIS version 10.x and is constantly maintained. The data is provided to the public as a WFS download service and as a WMS rendering service.
