The Weerribben-Wieden and Sallandse Heuvelrug National Parks
Description
Within the nature network in Overijssel there are two National Parks: Weerribben-Wieden and the Sallandse Heuvelrug. These areas include natural environments with (inter)nationally rare or unique natural qualities, together with special landscape and recreational aspects. For the National Parks there is a shared responsibility in which the experience value is strengthened together with local partners. This approach emphasises the active involvement of municipalities, land management organisations and companies in both the development and management of the National Parks. This is aimed at a joint effort to improve the value and experience of these parks.
