Geology - Map of the Quaternary Base
Description
The map of the quaternary base shows at a glance the basis of the quaternary sediments in Berlin, which are characterized by a multiple change of cold and warm periods, in relation to m NHN. It is shown as a height step map in an increment of 25 m. Significantly prominent is an articulated relief in which the Elster-era gutter structures typical of northern Germany reach a depth of almost - 300 m NHN, e.g. in the area of the Schmöckwitz settlement.
