Residential parking areas Wuppertal

The data set of the residential parking zones Wuppertal includes the boundaries and designations of (as of 05/2023) 52 spatially modelled residential parking zones in the Wuppertal urban area, managed by the Department of Roads and Traffic. Resident parking zones are also referred to as "application zones". Anyone who is officially registered in such a zone with their main or secondary residence may apply for the issuance of a resident parking card that entitles them to park in locally designated resident parking areas. The application can be submitted digitally via the Wuppertal service portal. The boundaries of the resident parking zones were constructed for the first time in 08/2016 on the basis of the street and address area assignments in the public resident parking zone list on the basis of the official base map ABK. A thorough review and revision of the data took place in 03/2023. For each surrounding polygon of a resident parking zone, the data set also contains the two name components with the combination of which such a zone is clearly designated, namely the ZONE (abbreviation of a maximum of 4 capital letters) and the NR (optional alphanumeric subdivision of the zone). The continuation of the data set by the Roads and Traffic department takes place irregularly, in each case promptly after a change with regard to the resident parking zones. The digital continuation process is currently under construction. The open data record, which is available in shape, KML and GeoJSON format under an open data license (CC BY 4.0), is nevertheless automatically updated in a fixed, weekly cycle.
