Description
The assay results of raw material geological exploration of near-surface stones and earth raw materials are managed and updated in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (M-V) in a database and a digital map of near-surface raw materials (KOR50 M-V). Due to the intensive exploration activity, a good level of knowledge of the regional distribution of near-surface rock and earth raw materials was achieved. The KOR50 M-V provides technically well-founded raw material geological foundations for securing raw materials in state and regional planning and municipal spatial planning.
In the KOR 50 M-V, all currently available deposit geological and mining data of the Geological Service and Mining Office are evaluated and documented according to a uniform system. The basic raw material geological and mining data were recorded in a database. This database enables a wide range of analytical statements about the existing raw material potential, in particular the size and stock situation of the deposits (geologically explored), occurrences (geologically inferred) and areas of publicity (geologically suspected) as well as raw material quality and regional distribution of the rock and earth raw materials.
