At the level of forecasting areas, the proportion of people in need communities is represented in the total population of the forecast area.
At the end of 2017, 14.3 % of Berlin’s inhabitants lived in demand communities under the Social Code II (SGB II).

The highest shares were recorded in the forecast areas Gesundbrunnen (33.4 %) and Kreuzberg-Nord (33.9 %).
The lowest shares were recorded in the forecast areas Kaulsdorf/Mahlsdorf (2.7 %) and the forecast area D (2.4 %) in the district of Steglitz-Zehlendorf.
