Biotope mapping (1981-1989)
Description
Biotope mapping 1981-1989 (intensive mapping) was carried out centrally by the then State Institute for Environmental Protection (LfU) (today: State Institute for Environment, Measurements and Nature Conservation Baden-Württemberg). The biotopes of intensive mapping were not subject to any legal protection as is given today for the particularly protected biotopes according to NatSchG or LWaldG. The selection criteria for intensive mapping were: Proximity to nature, homogeneity, diversity, rarity and endangerment of biotopes, species of red lists and representativeness for the Biotopart and the natural space. The biotopes were recorded according to the uniform requirements of a mapping guide. There is no continuation with the same methodology.
