Depth (in m+NAP) of the interface where the chloride content of groundwater is 150 mg/l. Source: REGIS (1998). Knowledge about the depth of the sweet-salt interface is necessary when installing wells for drinking water, agricultural or industrial use. This applies to installations where groundwater is actually used for, for example, livestock drinking water,
irrigation, fish farms etc. but also for closed systems such as cold or heat storage.
