WTCB — Smart Geotherm thermal conductivity (minimum)
Description
These maps are grid maps (grids) that represent the minimum thermal conductivity in Flanders over 100 m depth, to the solid rock or to the charted depth. For the estimation of the thermal conductivity it was decided to use the HCOV model. The methodology applied divides the different hydrogeological layers into a certain number of categories according to the soil type of which the layer is mainly composed. A realistic minimum value for thermal conductivity was assigned to each category based on literature data. These values were further tested by means of a calibration on the basis of more than 15 available TRTs, carried out randomly in Flanders in the context of real construction projects.
