Improvement of national waterways (Environmental Vision 2016-2020)
Description
This file contains areas for improvements to national waterways as defined in the Environmental Vision of the Province of Groningen 2016-2020. The main waterway Lemmer-Delfzijl is made suitable for larger ships (ship class Va). The upgrade of the Van Starkenborgh Canal is already happening. In addition, several bridges across the Ems Canal need to be replaced. The Empire pays for the improvement of this national road. We also want the capacity of the Zeesluis Delfzijl to be increased as a link between that main waterway and the inland waterways in Germany.
For the Groningen part, we do the project management, planning study, plan development and realisation of, among other things, the replacement of bridges.
