Description
Description of the INSPIRE Download Service (predefined Atom): Due to their width and low ground roughness, cold air drainage paths are guideways for regional ventilation. Ventilation correlates with large-scale air flows and only becomes effective if the higher-level main wind direction runs parallel to the ventilation paths. Depending on the size of the air masses transported, these are main ventilation paths (larger valleys), secondary or subordinate ventilation paths. The landscape programme presents the most important cold air drainage channels with the task of keeping them open. see Saarland Landscape Programme, Chapter 3.2.
