doldrums, water jetties, trough bridge
Description
A dome or, according to DIN 4047-5 (5.7), a piping is a pipeline in which a flowing water is passed under surface obstacles, usually with a free water level. A doldrum is referred to when it is a longer stretch of water, for the construction of which a planning approval procedure or an expansion permit according to ยง31 WHG was required.
According to DIN 4047-5 (5.4), a water jetty is a crossing structure in which a body of water is passed under pressure under a body of water, a cut in the terrain or a low-lying obstacle. A trough bridge crosses another body of water.
These structures play a role in water development planning, the inventory for the Water Framework Directive, as well as in the processing of flood hazard maps.
