Truck Prohibited Zones (WFS Service)
Description
As a measure of the air pollution control plan, the truck ban zone in the state capital Dresden was established in 2011.
According to an analysis of the immission situation, motor vehicle traffic is the main cause of exceedances of limit values for health-relevant air pollutants at this time. HGV traffic contributes greatly to pollution in urban areas. The aim of the measure is to further minimise truck traffic. In order to avoid these journeys, this traffic is prohibited in large parts of the urban area with the StVO sign 253 (prohibition for motor vehicles with a permissible gross vehicle weight above 3.5 tonnes, including their trailers and for tractors, excluding passenger cars and buses) with the additional sign "service providers, suppliers and motorhomes free".
