Description

It is the first version of the search zones. These have been made available for information but are no longer in use in the context of the Natura 2000 policy (‘Conservation policy’). Currently, the Natura 2000 version 2 Preliminary Search Areas are in use for this purpose. A 'search area' indicates for each European protected habitat the perimeter that is safeguarded in order to optimally place the conservation objectives for the special area of conservation in question. Search zones are part of the Natura 2000 management plan in accordance with the legal framework. Currently, however, no Natura 2000 management plans have been adopted by the Flemish Government. In the meantime, provisional search zones are being used in practice. The Natura 2000 version 2014 Preliminary Search Areas Conservation Goals were originally published in early 2015. In September 2015, they were replaced by the Natura 2000 version 2 Preliminary Search Areas.
