Study Area campaign INTEMARES-COLCARTO_0221
Description
The information contained in this dataset is the whole of the area sampled during the working days of the INTEMARES-COLCARTO_0221 oceanographic campaign carried out between 11 and 23 February 2021.
This is the representation of the spatial distribution of the total area in which the different types of sampling were carried out by the scientific personnel on board.
The area covered by the data provided covers an area of approximately 431 km2 within and beyond the margins of the Columbretes SCIs in order to study the continuity of habitats or other potential areas of interest.
It is a data set composed of polygonal elements, where the polygons representing the different locations in which sampling was carried out regardless of their nature have been unified, thus including areas sampled with towed video, diving, dredges, multibeam echosonde, TOPAS parametric spindle or oceanographic rosette.
Each object is associated with a series of alphanumeric variables such as the name of the campaign, the organism, the IP of the project, the region, the start and end dates of the campaign, the total area in square meters, the description of the layer and possible observations.
The geographical information collected is stored in a spatial database.
These works have been financed thanks to the LIFE IP INTEMARES Project (LIFE-IP INTEMARES - Integrated, Innovative and Participatory Management for N2000 network in the Marine Environment - LIFE15 IPE/ES/000012). This integrated project has the challenge of laying the foundations to effectively manage the marine areas of the Natura 2000 Network and complete the work and progress promoted within the framework of the LIFE + INDEMARES project, which managed to take a great step in terms of declaring new areas.
