Measuring locations for monitoring environmental radioactivity in soil by insitu gamma spectrometry
Description
The map shows the measuring locations for monitoring radioactivity in the soil using the so-called “Insitu gamma spectrometry”. With this measurement method, the content of radioactive substances on and in the soil can be determined quickly and directly on site without having to take samples for analysis.
The data is collected as part of the Integrated Measurement and Information System (IMIS) by the Länder on behalf of the Federal Government (see [http://www.bfs.de/DE/themen/ion/notfallschutz/messnetz/imis/imis_node.html]. The points shown represent the respective administrative unit (municipality).
