Pharmaceutical residues in the environment
Description
Pharmaceutical active substances are used in human and veterinary medicine in some significant quantities and can be detected in the environment. The study of the Federal Environment Agency describes the development of the consumption volumes of drug active substances and compares the values of 1997 and 2014. A total of 24 indication groups and their occurrences in various environmental compartments in Austria are dealt with. The results provide a detailed overview of the situation in Austria and serve as a basis for further investigations and possible measures to minimise stress.
