Compliance of water intended for the life of molluscs
Description
The indicator identifies the marine and brackish areas, bench sites and natural populations of bivalve molluscs and gastropods, designated by the Region which, over a period of 12 months and on the basis of a minimum sampling frequency, comply with the values defined as guidelines and imperatives set by the legislation (Tab 1/C Section C of Legislative Decree 152/06).The parameters to be determined for the estimation of compliance are: pH, temperature, colouring, suspended materials, salinity, dissolved oxygen, hydrocarbons of oil origin, faecal coliforms, heavy metals (Ag, As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Zn, Hg and Pb) and organohalogenated substances. Water designated and found to be compliant may be exempted from periodic sampling and for which it is established that there is no cause of pollution or risk of deterioration.
