Harp Piemonte — Special waste per municipality and per year
Description
The dataset originated from the extraction of the special waste generation data from the MUD declarations for each year. The reported production data aggregates non-hazardous and hazardous waste and is broken down by municipality and by production process of the waste, obtained on the basis of declared CER codes. The ERC codes (the acronym ERC stands for “European Waste Catalogue”) are numerical sequences of six digits aimed at identifying the waste according to the production process from which it originates. The special waste produced is broken down, by municipality, in order to highlight the large production sectors of origin. Since 1994 the MUD database has been the main source of data to know and evaluate the production, management and flows of special waste. At present, it is still the only reliable source of data on special waste, however, as regards construction and demolition waste, which is not subject to a reporting obligation, the quantities reported, extracted from the MUD, underestimate actual production.
