Description
The dataset represents the effects on the ground associated with the floods that occurred along the river rods and streams of Dora Baltea, Orco, Soana, Stura di Lanzo, Scrivia, Borbera, Curone linked to the alluvial event of 23-25 September 1993 and for Scrivia, Borbera and Curone also of October 1993. The following are shown: the delimitation of the flood field, the main erosive and depositional processes, estimates of hydrometric levels, the influence of anthropogenic interventions on the propagation of outflows, damage to infrastructure and longitudinal and transversal hydraulic defence works, and relict river forms. Alluvial conoids are also reported as the site of violent torrenting activity and landslide movements triggered by the activity of the watercourse or having accumulation that interferes directly with the hive.
