Description
The dataset consists of a series of specific elements constituting the stops of the excursion.The dataset is in support of the story map of the “Geological Routes in Piedmont” described below.https://webgis.arpa.piemonte.it/secure_apps/geoitinerari_piemonte/Nel context of the initiatives of dissemination and training in the field of geosciences that Arpa Piemonte carries out as part of its institutional activity of environmental education, two hiking itineraries are published aimed at discovering the geology of two sectors of the Piedmont Alps. The publication falls on the occasion of the Festival of Planet Earth Week which has a national character and takes place from 13 to 20 October 2019. The two itineraries are presented according to the mode of story telling, declined in a geographical context, which offers a structured narrative and with a strong communicative impact of information content through digital tools. In the specific case, maps and maps have been set up, accompanied by texts, images and videos, which lead the user step by step to discover two important sites: the Valle Cervo (Biella) and the Valle di Lanzo in the Western Alps. The two sites offer a glimpse of the ancient and recent geological evolution of Piedmont.
