Harp Piemonte — Area Umide of Piedmont
Description
The dataset is a first survey of wetlands, obtained through the collection of already existing data, produced in different fields, for different purposes. It was carried out following Regional Executive Decision No 64-11892 of 28 July 2009 ‘Census of the network of wetlands present in Piedmont’, which identifies the Directorate for Agriculture and the Environment Directorate of Piedmont Region, with the collaboration of Arpa Piemonte, as the structures responsible for coordinating and organising the carrying out of a census of wetlands. The data collection harmonises and structure of information covering a very variable period of time, from 1991 to 2010. The purpose of the classification adopted in this work is to provide a general framework that characterises, at regional level, the humid environments for which useful information sources have been found. This classification provides for a macro-subdivision between two groups of typically continental wetlands: Natural AND SEMINATURAL and ARTIFICIAL. The categories of wetlands are represented, for natural and semi-natural wetlands, da:SORGENTI, RISORGIVE AND FONTANILI, CORRENT WATERS, Perifluvial ZONEs (including, gorges, etc..), LAGHI, STAINS AND PALUDI, TORBIERE, marshes AND POZZES, UMIDI BOSCHI and, as regards artificial wetlands, by: ARTIFICIAL RUNNING WATERS, PADDY FIELDS, ARTIFICIAL RESERVOIRS, QUARRY LAKES.
