Decisions of the Competition Commission
Description
The Hellenic Competition Commission is the body responsible for the implementation of Law 3959/11 "protection of free competition".
With Law 2296/95, the Hellenic Competition Commission acquired the form of an independent authority with administrative autonomy, while with Law 2837/2000, it also acquired financial autonomy. Finally, with Law 3373/2005, the Hellenic Competition Commission acquired a distinct legal personality that allows it to appear independently in all types of proceedings that have as their subject acts or omissions, while at the same time it was granted the power of regulatory intervention in sectors of the economy (Article 11 of Law 3959/11). In addition, its supervisory powers have been extended, as have its powers in the application of the Community competition rules, in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EC) No 1/2003.
Its internal operation and the way of managing its resources are regulated by the Rules of Operation and Management.
