Heavy metals (As, Cd, Pb and Ni) in falling dust (deposition)
Description
For the deposition of heavy metals, there are only limit and/or guide values for lead and cadmium in Flemish legislation. This standard applies to the annual average of 4 jugs placed according to the VLAREM measurement strategy. From 2015, the VMM follows the European standard for the sampling of heavy metals in total deposition. This sampling method differs from the method in VLAREM. As a result, only an indicative assessment can be carried out. In 2017 and 2018, the VMM will carry out comparative measurements to see whether an adjustment of the VLAREM standard is necessary. The results are currently available until October 2017.
