FQMS - Fuel quality monitoring system 2011
Description
According to the Fuel Quality Directive, compliance with environmental quality standards for fuels is reviewed and reported annually as part of the Fuel Quality Monitoring System. Since 2003, the Federal Environment Agency has been carrying out these quality controls in Austria. In 2011, around 7.8 million tonnes of fuel were sold in Austria, of which around 6 million tonnes were diesel. In order to check the quality of the fuels, a total of 303 samples were taken at 303 filling stations throughout Germany. Diesel fuel has been tested for compliance with ON EN 590 and petrol fuel has been tested for compliance with ON EN 228. A total of 14 deviations of the defined standard parameters were found (6 exceedances in the parameter of maximum vapour pressure, 2 each with maximum sulphur content and density and 4 in the boiling process).
