lidovienna - urban development on the left of the Danube
Description
How has Vienna changed its architecture to the left of the Danube since 1938? And what influence has urban planning had on this? These questions are addressed by the research project TRANS[form]DANUBIA. On the interactive project website you can immerse yourself in several ‘planning stories’, compare historical with current aerial photographs and thus get an idea of the change to the left of the Danube. What was in front of the Danube Island? What did Kaisermühlen look like before the war and what is happening in the seaside town of Aspern? Timelines and interactive maps also illustrate the long development history of Floridsdorf and Donaustadt and provide insight into the major plans and projects for Transdanubia.
