Drug consumption statistics
Description
The State Agency for Medicinal Products performs an analysis of the consumption of medicinal products using the ATC/DDD classification system recommended by the WHO, which provides the possibility to standardise the grouping of medicinal products and the use of an international drug consumption unit — DDD for the analysis of consumption. Using this classification system, it is possible to compare the use of medicinal products between regions and countries of the world, as well as to evaluate trends in the use of medicinal products over the long term and in different sections.
DD is the assumed mean daily maintenance dose used for the main indication of the medicinal product in an adult patient.
