Denmark’s Height Model — Excessive shadow map

Description

The exaggerated shadow map is a visual interpretation of the terrain model. In the visualisation, the relatively flat Danish landscape appears more hilly, in order to better distinguish between the smaller elevation differences that exist in the landscape. This means that terrain variations appear clearer if you are looking for even small differences such as streams in a forest or traces of past memories. The excessive shadow map is suitable for illustration of the terrain model on web pages or in combination with other spatial data for the production of various map products. It can be used alone or as a background for other themes. Please note that the shadow map is not suitable for calculations, here you should instead use Denmark’s Height Model — Terrain, Surface, Height curves or point cloud. In relation to visualisation of Denmark’s Height Model — Terrain, the calculation of the height of a given cell is exaggerated by multiplying the z-value by 4 meters
