Description
The main research project Velenje 2000 is a survey of the same name Velenje 2000 - Residents on the development problems of the Municipality of Velenje. This central research represents the entire completed sociological part within the research project, which, in addition to sociological, also included economic, economic, architectural, etc. views on the development of the city municipality and the city of Velenje. The entire sociological report of the study consists of five different completed studies, which were carried out by the researcher and his colleagues. One of the tasks assigned to sociologists in the project was to systematize and sociologically conceptualize the problems of socio-spatial development in the municipality of Velenje. Above all, in the light of socio-territorial development and planning, the question was asked how a certain socio-economic development is expressed in the municipality, in its space, what problems it raises, etc. Furthermore, they also set themselves the task of determining how specific human artificially triggered nature affects development processes in the municipality and the form of spatial organization. The research also aims to find important developmental regular mechanisms that define specific developmental conflicts and contradictions in development. When researching social development in the municipality of Velenje, the research group tended to show the interdependence of developmental changes in the country, the republic and the municipality, and the intertwinement of the determinants of economic and social development. What they leased and thus carried out research is above all that the municipality is often in a position where it only has to accept and adapt to its superiors. Therefore, an important issue - global development processes, which are concretized in the municipal space - is subjectivity, which affects the direction of the development of the local space. The problem of researching social development cannot be anticipated solely on economic development, so social development was measured as social security, which promotes or inhibits general development. At the same time, significant socio-spatial dimensions such as food, housing, health, leisure and recreation were used as indicators of social development. When taking into account the qualitative objective components of social development, the specifics of the municipality of Velenje were also taken into account when measuring social development. For example, the share of commuters, the share of young women in relation to the total population, the share of the agricultural population, the share of active employment, the number of persons per betting placement, the average size of housing, the school education of the population, etc. In the last part, the research was also focused on the analysis of the living environment, especially from the point of view of long-term development perspectives and planning of the living sphere, the sphere of work and production. Epistemologically, the intention was to relativise the strict division into the sphere of production and reproduction or the sphere of production and consumption. The main purpose of the research was to determine the factors of the development of an industrial or capitalist society, how the division of functions occurs and how the living sphere (the sphere of production) assumes a certain production function. Thus, for the development of the municipality of Velenje, a specific spatial relation is important, which is intertwined with an atypical relationship between the working and living spheres, atypical for the level of industrial development, urbanism and post-industrialism. Therefore, it is important to include the question of living space in the research, since in the Velenje case it is obvious that there is a close connection between the working and living environment, which is often unhealthy and in most cases already exhausted.
