Description

The purpose of the research is to study the factors related to the motivation to protect users on online social networks. The aim of the study was to find out how psychologically ownership, privacy concerns, sensitivity of information, descriptive norm, perceived regulation, control concerns, perceived vulnerability, perceived consequences and perceived threats affect Motivation for the protection and safe behavior of users on online social networks. The research followed a cross-cutting research strategy. The survey was carried out among the members of 15 groups of Slovenian Speaking users of the online social network Facebook, between June and November 2018. The survey was completed by 308 respondents, but the analysis was carried out only on 274 units, which in constructs are: privacy concerns, sensitivity of information, motivation to protect, descriptive norm, perceived regulation, control concerns, perceived vulnerability, perceived consequences and perceived threats of responses He gave at least one answer. The questionnaire was originally developed in English. A Slovenian translation of the questionnaire is available. The data file is available in Slovenian and English.
