Use of mobile applications for visits to cultural heritage sites, 2020

In the external environment, cultural heritage monuments are exposed to several natural and anthropogenic factors. Which leads to their deterioration. Growing urbanisation and mass tourism are worsening the situation; Tourism is also an important tool for strengthening and preserving cultural heritage, in particular through modern information and communication technologies, They provide additional opportunities to engage visitors (Ismagilov et al. 2015, Ursache 2015). In addition, there is a trend Unifying experiences for visitors to cultural heritage sites (Cirulis et al. 2015, Xu et al. 2017), including locational or Geolocation Games (Maia et al. 2017). To better understand the perception and values of different groups of visitors regarding cultural heritage and developed a strategy for involving target groups in heritage conservation, were carried out in two Slovenian cities Four focus groups. Participants were selected using a screening questionnaire that asked about their travel habits and the use of mobile applications during visits to monuments. In both cities there was one focus group with users of geolocation games One with non-users. The topics of mobile cultural heritage photography, application use were discussed in all groups for visitors to certain locations and geolocation applications.
