Sustainability and quality of Slovenian neighbourhoods, 2018

Description

The survey in four Slovenian neighbourhoods was carried out as a pilot part of a project led by Dr. Tadeja Zupančič, entitled "System support for decision-making in urban renovation of Slovenian settlements from the point of view of balancing energy efficiency and management with Local Resources in the Neighborhoods. The research project proposes the establishment of a data-based decision support system for modular urban renovation of Slovenian settlements at the level of neighbourhoods in terms of their sustainable efficiency. The survey was designed in accordance with two objectives, namely: 1) to obtain some missing data on the efficiency and sustainability of pilot neighbourhoods and 2) to identify the level of responsiveness of neighbourhood residents, the difficulties in obtaining data in this way and the potential for systemic integration of the data thus obtained in a pre-established neighbourhood evaluation model. The main problems addressed in the survey and addressed to residents of selected neighbourhoods are: satisfaction with public open spaces and equipment and satisfaction with transport infrastructure, habits of residents in regarding the use of public open spaces, habits related to daily travel and the use of means of transport, habits related to the use of resources (energy, water, time...), the degree of belonging and attitude of the population to the local environment, community activity and the use of advanced technologies.
