Slovenian pulse 2/2011

Description

A set of questions on Slovenian identity and history examined the extent to which the inhabitants of Slovenia feel members of their nation, country, municipality, region, Europe, family, profession, organisation and political opinion. They were also asked which is the most important person in Slovenian history and how important individual historical events seem to them. What are the typical Slovenian characteristics – are Slovenians hard-working, honest, envious, tolerant, innovative, closed-minded, determined, competitive, courageous, solidarity-based? It also shows how much change has occurred compared to last year. Among the current questions, it was determined whether Prime Minister Pahor acted correctly or duplicitously from the point of view of public opinion when, despite the invitation of the Court of Auditors, he did not replace Minister Križanič. It was also investigated whether, in the opinion of the respondents, we need a radical change in the Constitution and regulation of Slovenia, only minor corrections, or whether the Constitution should be kept as it is. It was examined how much participation in the referendum on the Small Business Act could be and what the fate of this act would be. As always, however, relations between political parties and (non-)support for the current government have also been established.
