Study circles 2013-2016

Description

Study circles are small groups that learn in a planned way. These have been in place since 1993. Systematic monitoring was designed with the purpose of annual reports, which after ten years turned into research-based analyses. The purpose of monitoring and researching study circles is to determine the characteristics of non-formal learning in small groups, which takes place throughout Slovenia throughout the year, and is financed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport under certain conditions. (qualification of the mentor, adherence to the ŠK principles, tender criteria). The research is carried out within the framework of the regular tasks of the Slovenian Institute for Adult Education. The results of the research serve the funder for the development of adult education (e.g. responding to needs), to research specific issues (e.g. responsiveness of certain segments of society, specificities of community learning), to observe time dynamics of development (e.g. financial investment by municipalities in adult education) and for comparisons with the rest of the world. The existing dataset combines surveys in the school years 2012/13, 2013/14, 2014/15 and 2015/16.
