Monitoring the COVID-19 epidemic: Tracker and data infrastructure in Slovenia, 2021

Description

The research examines the course and reasons for setting up the voluntary project COVID-19 Tracker, which was created during the outbreak of the SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus epidemic in Slovenia and is epidemics represented an important part of the Slovenian data infrastructure for both the professional and general public. The study also examines the interactions that Tracker has established in the wider institutional environment. The study is based on 14 interviews with Tracker members and analyzes the course of data collection, the formation of a community around Tracker, the range of its users, Tracker infrastructure and division of work. Organisation He analyses the division of work within the Tracker through the forms of organization known from the open source movement and the concepts of border objects and data curatorship in the field of science and technology studies. 14 interviews were collected and 12 interviews are kept in the ADP.
